I found this recipe on pinterest, of course 🙂 and I have been making my own hamburger buns ever since! They are so delicious! SO DELICIOUS! You can find the original recipe here!
The only small adjustments that I make are…I use canola oil instead of vegetable and sometimes I use honey instead of sugar!
Homemade Hamburger Buns
Makes 8 buns
1 tablespoon active-dry yeast
1/2 cup (4 oz) warm water
1/2 cup (4 oz) milk (whole, 2%, or skim)
1 large egg
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon salt
3 cups (15 oz) all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon butter
Mix all the ingredients together. Whisking in between each addition. Let rise for an hour. Punch down. Pinch off 8 or so balls. Cover and let rise for 40 min. Preheat oven to 375 and bake for 15-18 min.
